In 1835, Thomas Macaulay articulated the goals of British colonial imperialism most succinctly: "We must do our best to form a class who may be interpreters between us and the millions whom we govern, a class of persons Indian in blood and color, but English in taste, in opinions, words and intellect."

Now I can understand how successful he became in his devious plan after reading a comment of a person who commented with disguised name of "lyer_world" yesterday on my Hindi blog on NDTV blogs. I'm very sad to know that some of us are still living with slave mentality. These illegitimate progenies of Thomas Macaulay despise Indian languages like Hindi, Indian culture, and everything which is Indian.

The nation who doesn't have self-respect and faith in its culture and history cannot progress. But there are also people like Priya ji, who are proud of their Indian identity and culture. And I would like to see people like her increasing. Because people full of faith in national ideals and culture like her are the future of India.
